Pipe Payment Is Issue for Lonaconing

Lonaconing Mayor Jack Coburn was recently spoke to the Dave Norman Show about the current water bill conversations between the town and Allegany County government. Conversations have continued, but Coburn says the water bill is not the problem. It’s the fact that the County is charging the for a pipe that has been unused for the last two decades…
“They’re concerned with the usage of the pipe that was in the ground, but the pipe has sat in the ground for 20 years and had not been used. And then all of the sudden they want us to pay $18,000 a month to use that pipe.”
