Embassy Theater Fire Cancels Cabaret

The Cumberland Fire Department responded early Saturday morning to a fire at the Embassy Theater on Baltimore Street. First responders discovered a small fire in the lobby and quickly extinguished the blaze. While the fire did not cause any serious damage to the building, the remaining performances of Cabaret have been canceled due to smoke and water cleanup. A release from the theater stated that tickets for the performances will be refunded, and funds should return to the original accounts within five to seven business days. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
