Preakness Stakes Moves To May 23

On the heels of an announcement that Churchill Downs is starting a new “Race For the Vase” horseracing series, Maryland is moving its historic Preakness Stakes at Pimlico one week later to May 23.  The new date, announced by Governor and First Lady Moore on Wednesday should allow more horses to be eligible for leg two of the Triple Crown.
