Caporale Gives Bel Air Water Update

Allegany County government is seeing progress behind the scenes concerning the Bel Air water system. A 30-day period the County gave Maryland American Water to collect necessary data and numbers for pursuing a sale is coming to a close, according to Commission President Dave Caporale. He believes court action is unnecessary but says it should fall in their favor if it comes to that…
“I think that in light of these circumstances I think a court would look favorable on our situation.”
Caporale added that project funding is promised once the system is purchased…
“That’s sort of reassuring that if we get the system at a fair price we have their promise from state and federal that they’re going to help with infrastructure needs.”
