Shapiro Takes Executive Action against Data Centers

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro took executive action Tuesday to put restrictions on data center development in the state.  Earlier this year, Shapiro introduced his requirements which demand developers meet strict guidelines and removes AI data centers from the Fast Track permitting process.  The requirements passed the state’s House but not the Senate, so Shapiro took it into his own hands…

“We will not be bullied by these developers. We will not be bulldozed by the lawyers for these big tech companies. That will not happen here in the Commonwealth.  We have a long history in Pennsylvania of industry running rough shot over our communities to make a buck. That stops with me.”
