Former WV Trooper Pleads Guilty of Child Porn Crime

A former West Virginia State Police Officer, Kenneth McCord of Charleston, pleaded guilty to the production of child pornography. From 2024 and 2025, McCord communicated through messages and video calling with a 15-year-old California male. McCord admitted to knowing the individual was a minor and persuading and enticing the minor to send explicit images and videos of himself. McCord faces 15 to 30 years in prison, up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
