Coney Unearths 50-Year-Old Time Capsule

Recently the Valley High School Class of 1976 unearthed a time capsule it had buried 50 years ago. Yearbook editor Sharon Morgan told WCBC News that a thrill for her was seeing the school yearbook, The Lance, in tiptop shape…
“First of all, I was thrilled our yearbook did really well. The cover’s a little bit warped, but other than that the pictures, all the pages look like it did in seventy-six.”
Morgan added that another discovery from the time capsule was meaningful for her…
“One family put in a jar of coal, and I thought was so creative to represent that area which is a coalmining town.”
