County Approached by American Water at MACO

American Water approached Allegany County Commissioner Bill Atkinson and Administrator Jason Bennett at the MACO Conference last week.  Bennett told the County Commission during Thursday’s Open Work Session that the company’s representatives said the information the County requested for the Bel Air water system is still being gathered but should be finalized in a couple of weeks…

“So, that’s good.  That will allow us then to build, essentially, what we think is our offer to them to acquire that system.  So, this is all a part of the process.  As we’ve said, it’s going to take us some time, but it is, I think, progressing.  To their credit, they found us to tell us just that, ‘Hey, we’re moving on, and we’re getting close.’”
