A progressive heart condition known as Amyloidosis is often misdiagnosed in women due to symptoms attributed to stress, menopause, or aging. The condition involves a buildup of proteins that deposit on different organs in the body. Symptoms can present as shortness of breath, swelling of the feet, and even carpal tunnel.
