More Measles Cases Confirmed in Maryland

The Maryland Department of Health is declaring an outbreak of measles in St. Mary’s, Carroll, and Cecil counties.  This involves the identification and investigation of 14 new confirmed cases in unvaccinated Maryland residents. No public exposures have been identified in these cases. There is currently no evidence of widespread community transmission as most cases occurred among household contacts. There have been no reports of measles in Allegany or Garrett Counties.
