FSU President Reveals Unique Name Origins

Frostburg State University’s newest president is just 50 years old. Dr. Shadow J.Q. Robinson took time this week to speak with WCBC’s Dave Norman about taking on his new role at Frostburg, coming to the mountains of Maryland from his recent position in Arkansas. He also took a few minutes to discuss the origins of his name “Shadow,” which he says started in his teen years in Kentucky…

“In junior high, I was writing a bunch of frankly, just god-awful love poetry for the same reason I suspect most junior high boys write a bunch of god-awful love poetry, trying to impress a girl. And I went through a whole bunch of pen names right around that time. One of the names I signed those poems was Shadow.”
