City Offering Another Round of Virginia Avenue Façade Grants

Building owners along Virginia Avenue can apply for an updated Façade Grant Program for the Virginia Avenue “Corridor of Opportunity.” Applications are on the City’s website until the allotted $125,000 runs out. Last fall, the grant program was a 50/50 split between the owner and the City of Cumberland. Main Street Manager Melinda Kelleher tells WCBC the state has allowed a program revision….
“Now, the City will pay 80% and they would only have to pay 20%, again, up to $10,000, and I’ve had several people that have reached back out to me who are in the process of working on their application. So, we’re hopeful that possibly we’ll have better luck with this second round.”
