Employer Registration for FAMLI Program Opens

Maryland’s new Family and Medical Leave Insurance program is now open for employer registration in the state. FAMLI is an insurance program where contributions go to a dedicated fund providing partial wage replacement during period of work leave. “I would say for the average it is less than a dollar a day, but it’s a very small amount. And in exchange for that, what you’ll get is job protection, as well as income replacement for up to $1000 a week for the average worker in the event that something happens.”
