South Street CDS, Riding Bicycle on Sidewalk Arrest

On Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department observed a male subject on South St operating a bicycle on the sidewalk in violation of Cumberland City ordinance. Officers stopped the male, advised him of the offense and identified him as Alex Chase McDonald, 29, of Cumberland MD. Officers then advised McDonald he would be cited for the offense and placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, officers discovered McDonald possessed suspected CDS paraphernalia. As a result, McDonald received criminal citations for the offenses and was released, pending trial in District Court.
