Boundary Expanded For Historic District

Interested developers in the building that housed the Old German Brewery and Furlow Towing will be getting a boost as Cumberland is expanding the boundaries of the city’s historic district to include the property.  Moving the property into the historic district would allow more incentives for development, according to Mayor Ray Morriss…

“Anyone then who would subsequently buy that property would be eligible for the tax credits and things like that. It’s a really big building and you need to be a little creative with the owners and the ability to help them be able to work out the costs of doing a restoration.”
