Open House For MD 144 Bridge Replacement

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is hosting a public open house Thursday, September 24 at the Allegany Museum to share information about a forthcoming bridge replacement over Evitts Creek near the Ali Ghan Shrine Club. The open house will have maps and displays, but no formal presentation. SHA Spokesperson Charlie Gischlar said work should begin next spring…
“Now the project will replace the existing three-span bridge. It’s about 110 feet long, it’s a single span bridge. It was originally constructed back in 1966 so it’s about 60 years old now and it’s safe, but it’s in need of replacement. It’s just out-used its livable life here.”
