CCTE CNA Students In Limbo

A teacher’s failure to handle paperwork correctly is costing recent graduates of the Career Center licensure as Certified Nursing Assistants.  The teacher who has resigned from the Allegany County Public School system, failed to handle changes in state testing for CNA certification. The school system has agreed to pay for re-testing the students to become certified. In a statement, school Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano said, quote, “I am greatly concerned about the challenges that our students experienced in meeting the new State guidelines. It is of utmost importance that students are provided high-quality instruction that fully prepares them for the next phase in their college or career pathway.”
