Local Teacher not to Blame for Mishandling of Tests

Sarah Taylor, a registered nurse, military veteran, and former Career Center Nursing Instructor for the Allegany County Public School system states she was forced to resign or face termination due to testing delays affecting 15 students in the Certified Nursing Assistants program. Speaking with WCBC News, she claimed the school system is using her as a scapegoat for delays caused by the Maryland Department of Health Board of Nursing and a third-party vendor that determines testing dates…

” Third party vendor was not able to test those students until the 6th of June which four students only showed up to take the test.”

Taylor informed WCBC News that she is pursuing legal action against the Allegany County School System…

“I followed the law to the T and it will be coming out later on in a lawsuit against the local board.”
School Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano declined to comment further, noting that it is now a personnel matter.
