AHEC Can Help With Transportation Needs

Western Maryland AHEC or Area Health Education Center has many resources to help the community. Assistance with housing, prescriptions and healthcare, and food insecurity top the list. Recently, Healthy Together Program Coordinator Lydia Yoder talked with WCBC about transportation issues. She says AHEC can help people plan ahead to get to important appointments…

“People have limited access to transportation. They wait till last minute, until it’s an emergency to go get help for their health need. Whereas if they had the transportation available to them sooner, it would not become an emergency.”
