The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is kicking off the holiday season before Thanksgiving this year with its series of Polar Express train excursions. In order to meet the 35,000 passengers expected, the first train leaves at 1pm on Saturday, November 21. Scenic railroad director Wes Heinz tells WCBC there will be a new car added to the train this year…

“Technically, it’s a rounded observation car. It’s a big old heavyweight, but when it comes into service during Polar, it will have brand new seating, brand new carpets, brand new everything and it is going to be a beautiful, beautiful piece of equipment.”
