West Virginia Has “Nesting Kits” For New Mothers

West Virginia Health Resources Administrator Tom Engles was at WVU Golisano Children’s Hospital to launch the Newborn Essentials Support Toolkit, or NEST Kit. West Virginia is the first state to receive the kits under an initiative from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. New parents will receive a kit with newborn and postpartum essentials including diapers, an infant thermometer, and blood pressure monitor. Engles said the kits give families a healthy head start…
“The start of a healthy child leads to a healthy relationship with that family and breeds to great outcomes for that family going forward. The 2,000 kits that will ultimately be distributed here in West Virginia are going to help families all across this great state.”
