Work Sessions Open to The Public

Cumberland City Hall
Kathy Cornwell

Citizens wanting to take a more active role in the future of Cumberland will often turn up at City Council meeting with concerns instead of contacting City Hall officials directly. For those who want a clearer understanding about what the city is up to, public work sessions are just that – open to the public.  Mayor Ray Morriss tells WCBC residents are welcome and encouraged to attend those meetings…

“It is a public work session. We publish the agenda on the Friday before the meetings. But it’s like any type of information, the individual needs to make an effort. You can’t force feed people to understand these type of things. So it’s out there and it’s available.”
