On Sunday, August 10th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department arrested William Stewart Sr. Stewart was arrested on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on August 7th, 2025. On that date, it is alleged that Stewart failed to appear in District Court for a previous charge of trespassing on private property. Stewart was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where he was released on his own recognizance.

On June 29th,2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 700 Block of Lafayette Avenue for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female at the residence. During the course of the investigation, officers determined that the female provided a false name. The female was later identified as Michelle Lynn Porter, and had two active arrest warrants. The warrants were issued due to Porter violating the terms and conditions of probation for previous convictions of second degree assault and failure to report abuse & neglect. Porter was searched, incident to arrest, and found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected CDS. Porter was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held without bond.
