Busy Friday for City Police

On Friday, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Jessica Nicole Porter.  The warrant was issued as a result of Porter failing to appear for her court case at the District Court of Allegany County.  Porter was originally charged with Theft less than $100.  Porter was arrested and held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

On Friday,  the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Logan Obrien.  The warrant was issued as a result of Obrien failing to appear for his court case at the District Court of Allegany County.  Obrien was originally charged with a traffic offense.  He was arrested and transported to Central Booking at the Allegany County Detention Center.  Obrien was later seen by a District Court Commissioner who released him on his personal recognizance.

On Friday, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Hallie Holder.  The warrant was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on April 25, 2022.  On this date at approximately 3:24 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of E. Industrial Blvd. for a disturbance.  Officers had responded to the same address multiple times for disturbances.  On this occasion, officers contacted the resident who reported that Hallie Holder had created another disturbance and threatened to burn the house down.  An application for charges against Holder was submitted to the District Court of Allegany County and an arrest warrant was issued.  Holder was arrested today and transported to Central Booking. Holder was later seen by a District Court Commissioner who released him on his personal recognizance.

CHARGES:  Arson/Threat, 2 counts of Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace-Loud Noise, Fail to Obey a Reasonable & Lawful Order

On Friday,  the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Kerri Michelle Fisher, age 31 of Cumberland MD.  The warrant charged Fisher with Second Degree Assault from an incident that occurred in September of 2021 where Fisher is alleged to have pepper sprayed a male.  Fisher was placed under arrest and taken to the District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance.  She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

Charges:  Second Degree Assault

 

On Friday  the Cumberland Police served two arrest warrants on Douglas Scott Smith age 42 of Cumberland MD.  One warrant charged Smith with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.  The warrant was a result of an assault that occurred in December, 2021 at a residence on the 500 block of Valley St, Cumberland.  During the altercation, Smith struck a female in the face several times, strangled her, and then threw her to the ground and kicked her in the ribs.  Officers observed injuries consistent with the victim’s story.  Smith was not on scene when the victim reported the incident.  An application of charges was filed and a warrant was issued.  A second arrest warrant was also served on Smith, charging him with Violation of Probation.   He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance and was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

On Friday January 28th, 2022 the Cumberland Police served two arrest warrants on Frank Germaine MacDonald age 38 years old of Cumberland, MD. The warrant was the result of an assault that occurred on January 2022 at a residence on the 300 block of Grand Ave.  During the altercation MacDonald locked a female and her children inside of a bathroom in the residence and would not allow them to leave.  One was able to escape from the bathroom and called for help.  MacDonald also punched the adult female prior to fleeing the residence.  An application of charges was filed on MacDonald and an arrest warrant was issued charging him with one count of Second Degree Assault and three counts of False Imprisonment.  MacDonald was also served with an arrest warrant charging him with Violation of Probation.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance.  He was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Charges:  Second Degree Assault, False Imprisonment (x3), Violation of Probation

 

Trespassing Arrest

 

On Friday, the Cumberland Police responded to a residence on N. Allegany St for a disturbance.  While on scene, officers contacted Aaron Lee Furlong, age 47 of Cumberland MD and a female who lives at the residence.  The argument was due to the fact that Furlong refused to leave after the female resident asked him to.  Officers also instructed Furlong to leave, however he continued to refuse.  He was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was issued a Criminal Citation for Trespassing and released.
