On Thursday, May 2, 2024 at approximately 10:49 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department was on patrol on Virginia Avenue when he observed Jon Vanetta Jr. The officer knew that Vanetta had active bench warrants through Allegany County. One warrant had been issued as the result of Vanetta violating probation where he was originally charged with Resisting Arrest. The other warrant was issued as the result of Vanetta failing to appear in court where he was originally charged with CDS: Possess-Not Cannabis. The officer contacted Vanetta and placed him under arrest. During a search of Vanetta, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Vanetta was transported to Central Booking. Vanetta was issued a criminal citation for CDS: Possess Paraphernalia. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. Vanetta was held without bond for the VOP warrant and a $1,000 bond for the FTA warrant.

On Monday, April 10, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served two bench warrants on Patrick Martin Jr. The warrants were issued as the result of Martin violating his probation. In one case, he was originally charged with CDS Admin Equip Poss/Dist. In the other case, he was originally charged with Burglary-4th Degree Theft, Theft: $100 to under $1,500. Martin was arrested and later transported to Central Booking. A search of Martin revealed that he was in possession of suspected crack cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Martin was issued criminal citations for the drug charges. He was seen by a District Court Commissioner for the warrants and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on two $500 bonds.
