CDS ARRESTS

On Thursday, May 30, 2024 at approximately 2:55 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department stopped a vehicle in the area of Park Street.  Officers contacted the occupants who were identified as Jeremy Skidmore and Stephanie Growden.  A police K-9 was utilized and alerted to the odor of drugs inside the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and drug paraphernalia was recovered.  Skidmore and Growden were arrested and later released on a criminal citation.

On November 2, 2016 at approximately 2125 hours Allegany County Sheriff’s Office deputies located a fugitive who was identified as Brian Michael Allen at a business in LaVale, Maryland. Brian Allen was currently wanted on seven (7) individual arrests warrants. Mr. Allen and an accomplice attempted to avoid apprehension, but were located hiding behind a business after hours. Mr. Allen was taken into custody and upon a search of his person deputies found him to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

While investigating the scene, deputies also contacted Tina M. Miller who was in the company of Brian Allen. Ms. Miller was also found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and was subsequently taken into custody. Both subjects were charged with the following crimes in reference to the incident.

Brian Allen : Cumberland, Maryland 38 years old CDS: Possession of CDS – Not Marijuana CDS : Possession of Paraphernalia Theft: Less than $1000 Tina Miller : Keyser, West Virginia 44 years old CDS: Possession – Not Paraphernalia CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia Interfering with Lawful Arrest Obstructing and Hindering Brian Allen was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a total of $15,000 bail. Mr. Allen is awaiting additional hearings in reference to several Circuit Court warrants. Tina Miller was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial hearing and was later released on her personal recognizance.
