On Saturday August 17, 2013, at 12:18 pm, Cumberland City Police officers responded to a private residence at the 200 block of Race Street for a Domestic Assault. Investigation into this matter revealed that Mary Valentine, age 19 of Cumberland, bit the victim on the wrist causing visible injury. Valentine was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing. Valentine was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners office for a bond review. Valentine was released on her personal recognizance pending trial. The victim did not require medical attention.

On Saturday Cumberland city police served a criminal summons on Tanya Marie McMannis, 26. The charges stem from a January 30 incident involving a physical altercation. McMannis was charged with 2nd degree assault and disturbing the peace. She was released pending trial.
