On Friday, September 13th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 Block of Columbia Street for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Joshua Kight and Nicholas McKinley who both had visible signs of injuries. Through the investigation, it was learned that both Kight and McKinley did assault each other. Kight was arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on a $15,000 unsecured bond. McKinley was arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on his own recognizance.

 

Arrest: Joshua Aaron Kight, age 35, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charges: Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree.

 

Arrest: Nicholas Andrew McKinley, age 35, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charge: Assault 2nd Degree.

On Sunday, February 4, 2024 at approximately 8:27 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 block of Columbia Street for a disturbance.  The caller reported that there was a male subject with a machete.  When police arrived, they observed Elias Harr in a verbal altercation with two other subjects.  One of the other subjects kicked the machete into the street and advised officers that he got the machete from Harr.  Police collected the machete and interviewed the involved parties.  The alleged victim in the incident reported that Harr pulled the machete out and threatened to kill him.  After further investigation, Harr was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and held on a temporary commitment-recalcitrant.
