On August 5th, 2025 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Nancy Louise Frazier. The summons was issued after a Cumberland Police officer completed an investigation of a theft that occurred on July 17th, 2025. The officer responded to a business on Park Street and made contact with an employee working loss prevention for the store. The employee advised that Frazier had taken merchandise from the store without paying. The employee also advised that other thefts were made by Frazier and had been cataloged over a period of time. Video evidence was presented to the officer and an application of charges was filed at District Court. Frazier signed for her copy of summons and was released pending trial at District Court.

On Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Ronald William Crawford, 46, of Ridgeley, WV. The summons was in reference to an incident that occurred on June 23rd, 2025, at a business in the 200 block of N. Mechanic St. On that date, officers responded to the business for the report of a theft. Once on scene, It was learned that an employee had a wallet stolen from an "employees only" room inside the store. Credit cards belonging to the victim had also been used at multiple locations after the theft was reported. Security cameras at multiple locations were utilized to identify Crawford as the suspect. As a result, an application for charges was submitted to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner, and a Criminal Summons was issued in the matter. On this date, Crawford was served the summons and released, pending trial at District Court.
