On Wednesday November 2, 2022, at approximately 1950 hours officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to an address in the 400 block of Baltimore Avenue for an assault involving a knife. Upon arrival police made contact with a victim on scene. The victim advised that they had been arguing with David Easton Williams when he produced a knife and began to threaten them with it in a reckless manner. Williams was then placed under arrest and transported to central booking. He was later seen by a district court commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

CHARGES: Attempted 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, Reckless endangerment.

On Saturday, September 3, 2022 at approximately 4:46 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the first block of Henderson Avenue for an assault. Police contacted the victim and a witness. A short time later, the officers located the suspect in the area of the George Street parking garage. The victim was able to positively identify the suspect as the subject who assaulted him. The suspect was identified as Duane Crowe Jr. The victim further advised that he was in an alley off of Union Street when Crowe appeared around the corner of a building and displayed a knife. Crowe then raised the knife above his head, and started running towards the victim stating that he was going to stab him. According to the victim, he was able to defend himself against the attack by hitting Crowe with a cane. Crowe then fled the area. After further investigation, Crowe was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
