Cumberland Man Arrested on Theft Charges

 Cumberland Police Department Friday served a Criminal Summons on Andrew Jacob Getz of Cumberland, MD.  The charges stemmed after officers responded to the parking garage on Frederick St for a destruction of property complaint.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with a Security Officer and were advised that Getz was observed breaking a wooden parking gate off of the parking booth.  Getz was then observed running in the area of Centre Street in possession of the broken piece of the parking gate.  Getz was unable to be located at the time of the incident and charges were filed through District Court.  Getz was served with the Criminal Summons and released pending his appearance in District Court.

On Friday the Cumberland City Police Dept. arrested Mark Henry Cosner, 49, of Cumberland MD. Cosner was arrested on two active Arrest Warrants issued by the Allegany County District Court. The first warrant stemmed from an incident occurred on October 25th, 2020. During this incident, it is alleged that Cosner stole money and a debit card from a victim and used the card fraudulently. The second warrant was issued on November 2nd, 2020. The warrant charged Cosner with Contempt of Court for Violating Conditions of Probation set forth by the District Court on a previous assault charge. Cosner was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He was held on a total of $1500 bond.
