On February 27th, 2021, The Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons was on Austin Garrett Sisk, 30, of Cumberland MD. The summons was in reference to an incident that occurred on February 23rd, 2020 at a residence in the 1100 block of Oldtown Rd. During the incident, the victim alleged that Sisk had assaulted them after an argument had ensued inside the residence. Sisk fled the scene on foot after the incident. Sisk was served the summons and released, pending trial in District Court.

On Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to an E. First Street residence for the report of an assault in progress. When officers arrived in the area, the observed a male flee from the area on foot. Officers gave chase, and after a short foot pursuit, Gary Eugene Rucker Jr was taken into custody and detained. Officers then learned that Rucker was involved in an argument with the complainant and that was the reason for the call to police. He charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing and hindering, and resisting arrest. Rucker was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on an unsecured bond of $2,500 pending trial.
