Cumberland Police Arrest report

     On October 18th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Antonio Maurice Smith, 32, of Cumberland MD. Smith was arrested on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on May 27th, 2022. The warrant alleged that Smith failed to obey the terms and conditions of his probation due to a previous conviction on charges of violation a protective order. Smith was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

Charges: Bench Warrant – Violation of Probation

   On October 18th, 2022, the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of Goethe St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located two subjects involved in a verbal disturbance. During the investigation, it was discovered that Shaquantae Donita Eldridge, 28, of Baltimore MD, was prohibited from being at the residence due to an active Protective Order issued by the District Court. As a result, Eldridge was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she was released on her own recognizance.

On October 16th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Shawn William Patrick Kelly, 20, of Cumberland MD. Officers on patrol in the area of Glenn St. observed Kelly on CSX property where it was clearly posted “No Trespassing”. Kelly was issued a Criminal Citation for Trespassing and released, pending trial in District Court.

On October 16th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police responded to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Ave for the report of a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with store employees who advised that a male subject had been panhandling at the store for multiple days. He had been asked to leave the property several times but had failed to do so. As a result, Jose Baradaf, 34, was placed under arrest. Baradaf was issued a Criminal Citation for Trespassing and released, pending trial in District Court.
