On Saturday, March 30, 2024 at approximately 7:22 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Queen City Drive for a shoplifting complaint. Police located the suspect, Jason Twigg, in the area of Decatur Street. After further investigation, Twigg was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was later released on a criminal citation. At approximately 8:19 PM, officers were dispatched to a different business on Queen City Drive for another shoplifting complaint. While officers were investigating this complaint, they observed Twigg inside this store carrying merchandise in his arms. Officers then observed Twigg begin to exit the store without paying for the items. Twigg was stopped by officers and arrested again. He was transported to Central Booking and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. Twigg was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment (recalcitrant).

On Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at approximately 11:30 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Potomac Street residence in reference to a subject stealing from vehicles. A description of the suspect was provided. Upon the officer’s arrival, he contacted the complainant who reported that he witnessed the suspect rooting through his neighbor’s vehicle. Another officer located the suspect, Brian Lindeman, a short distance away on E. Roberts Street. After further investigation, it was determined that Lindeman had stolen items from this vehicle and another vehicle on E. Mary Street. Lindeman had multiple stolen items in his possession. Lindeman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged and taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was released pending trial.
