BENCH WARRANT SERVED

 

On January 19th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Cassandra Kay Porter. The warrant was issued as a result of Porter violating terms of her probation passed on April 28, 2023 for original charges of assault. Porter was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where she was held without bond.

 

NAME: Cassandra Kay Porter AGE: 42  Cumberland, MD

 

CHARGES: Assault 1st degree

 

BENCH WARRANT SERVED

 

On January 19th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Elaina Dawn Harper. The arrest warrant was issued as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment issued by the Allegany County Circuit Court. Harper was originally charged with several CDS related crimes. She was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where she was remanded without bond.

CHARGES: CDS possession not Marijuana, CDS possession with intent to distribute, CDS Distribution of a Narcotic

 

ARREST WARRANT SERVED

 

On January 19th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on John Hollis Newcomb II. The charges were issued after a private citizen filed for charges at District Court. Newcomb was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his own recognizance.

CHARGES: Assault 2nd degree, Disorderly Conduct, Mace/Chemical- device intent to injure, Malicious Destruction of Property $1,000+

 

ARREST WARRANT SERVED

 

On January 19th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Samuel David Goetz. The warrant was issued after a Cumberland Police officer completed an investigation into a theft that occurred on December 11th, 2023 at 100 Beall Street Cumberland, MD. The victim reported the theft of his wallet to the officer. The officer then spoke with witnesses and reviewed video surveillance where they were able to positively identify Goetz as the suspect. The officer filed for charges at District Court. A warrant was issued, and Goetz was subsequently placed under arrest. He was transported to Central Booking and later seen by a District Court Commissioner. Goetz was later released on his own recognizance.

CHARGES: Theft $100.00 to under $1,500.00

 

ARREST WARRANT SERVED

 

On January 19th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Willaim Foster Younger JR. The warrant was issued after officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300 block of Bedford Street, on January 18th, 2024, for the report of an assault. An officer contacted the victim who identified Younger as the suspect. Through an investigation it was learned that an argument developed between the victim and Younger and he was asked to leave the residence. A struggle ensued and the victim was struck several times. The officer observed injuries consistent with the victim’s statement, and they attempted to locate Younger. Later, an officer filed for charges on Younger at District Court. An arrest warrant was issued and Younger was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

CHARGES: Assault 2nd degree, Disturbing the Peace, Trespassing, Attempted False Imprisonment

Arrest warrants served

 

On August 11, 2023 Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Asia Broadway IV. The original incident occurred on August 9, 2023. Officers were dispatched to Baltimore Avenue for a single vehicle accident. Prior to the arrival of the Officers, Allegany County dispatch was notified that the driver fled the accident. Officers located the subject, Asia Broadway IV near Marion Street. Mr. Mr. Broadway IV originally stated that his girlfriend was the driver. Based on the scene of the accident, Officers observed evidence that identified Broadway IV as the operator. Through the investigation it was learned that Broadway IV did not possess a driver’s license. He then admitted to running from the scene of the accident in an attempt to not receive a citation. Broadway IV was transported to a local area hospital as a result of the motor vehicle crash, and an application for charges was completed and an arrest warrant was issued. On August 11th, 2023 officers located Mr. Broadway IV and served the warrant. As Officers were arresting Mr. Broadway IV, he admitted to have CDS on his person. Officers located suspected Fentanyl capsules.  Broadway was transported to the Allegany County Jail.

 

Arrest: Asia Broadway IV, age 24, Cresaptown Maryland.

 

Charges: Multiple traffic violation, CDS possession not Marihuana.

 

Broadway IV is currently held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

 

 

Bench Warrants served

 

On August 11, 2023 officers of the Cumberland Police Department Arrested Antonio Maurice Smith on two Bench Warrants. The bench warrants were issued for failure to comply with the original charges being assault 2nd Degree, resist/ interfere with arrest/ failure to obey/ disturbing the peace and theft. He was severed with a three bench warrants for violation of a peace order.  Smith was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and held with no preset. Smith also has a warrant out of Baltimore city as a detainer.

 

Arrest: Antonio Maurice Smith, age 33, Cumberland Maryland.

 

Charges: Assault Second Degree, Resist/ interfere with arrest, Disorderly conduct, Failure to obey, disturbing the peace, theft 100-1500, and bench warrant for violation of a protective order X3.
