On Friday the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Desiree Lynne Smith charging her with 4th degree burglary. The summons was issued by District Court in reference to an incident that occurred on October 19th, 2021. On that date, Smith is alleged to have attempted to break into a Shriver Avenue residence with an accomplice. She signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial at District Court.

On July 30, 2020 at 6:51 pm, Cumberland Police officers were dispatched to the hundred block of Grand Ave. for a burglary complaint. When officers arrived on the scene they located an open door on the property. Officers then surrounded the property and a female exited identified as Misty Bucy, age 38 of Cumberland, Maryland. Through their investigation, officers learned that Bucy did not have permission to be inside the residence. Subsequently, Bucy was arrested and charged with burglary in the 4th degree. She was later provided her Initial Appearance in District Court and released on her own recognizance.
