CHARGES: Disorderly Conduct, Violation of Protective Order

On January 19th, 2024 at approximately 4:45 p.m, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 100 block of Baltimore Street for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival an employee from the business advised officers that a female inside of the store was grabbing items off the shelf and stating that she was going to take them. The officer contacted the female and identified her as Melody Joy Llewellyn. While speaking with Llewellyn she began to yell. She was ordered to discontinue her disorderly behavior and not to return to the store. Llewelyn then began screaming at the officers and interrupting the daily activities of surrounding citizens. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released pending trial at District Court. Later on, January 19th, 2024 at approximately 9:45 p.m, officers responded the area of the Queen City Drive underpass for an illegal burn event. An officer contacted members of the Cumberland Fire Department and were informed that Llewellyn had started a fire inside of garbage cans, in the underpass. The fires were extinguished by the Cumberland Fire Department. Llewellyn was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and held on $2,000 bond.
