On Sunday, May 26, 2024 at approximately 8:40 AM, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department located a male subject creating a disturbance in the first block of Frederick Street. The subject was identified as Tyler Dixon. Dixon was yelling obscenities at passing cars. The officer stopped to contact Dixon. He then yelled at the officer. The officer observed that there were bystanders in the area observing the disturbance. Dixon was warned multiple times to stop creating a disturbance. Dixon refused to listen to the officer’s orders. He was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $3,500 bond.

On March 26th, 2024, at approximately 4:27 a.m. the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 block of Bedford Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers contacted the complainant. The complainant advised that they obtained an interim protective order against Robert Glenn Handley. Officers served the protective order on Handley, and Handley became argumentative. He then yelled at the complainant. Officers ordered him to discontinue communication with the complainant, and Handley continued to yell at the complainant. He was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking where he was later seen by a District Court commissioner, and Handley was released on an unsecured personal bond.
