Melinda Kelleher of the Downtown Development Commission has provided a short update on construction efforts in Downtown Cumberland. The focus of work right now is on concrete curbing and roadway pavers. This week, Triton Construction will be concentrating on roadway and parking area pavers on North Centre Street and the middle block of Baltimore Street. By the end of April, shoppers should start to see trees being planted and possibly sidewalk paver installation.

Melinda Kelleher, Executive Director Downtown Development Commission provided construction update Last week Silva Cells were completed on the south side of Baltimore Street between Centre St and George St. Parking area pavers were installed on North Liberty Street. Concrete curbing was installed on Baltimore Street between Liberty St and Centre St. Electric and fiber lines installed on North Centre Street. Nearing completion.
This week Silva Cells will be installed on the north side of Baltimore Street between Centre and George. The intent is to keep the sidewalk open, but there may be a need for a localized closure if the excavation is determined to not be stable enough. The first street pavers will be installed on North Liberty Street, as well as parking delineation pavers. More concrete work on Baltimore Street between Liberty and Centre.
