On 09/20/2023 at approximately 7:45 PM the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Fayette Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers learned that Samantha Smith had assaulted a subject on scene. Officers were able to observe minor injuries on the victim. Smith was placed under arrest and into a police vehicle after a brief struggle. Smith was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Smith was seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on her own recognizance.

Charges – Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest

On Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 700 block of Fayette St for the report of a disturbance. Nearby residents advised officers that a subject was playing music loudly and disturbing the neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers contacted the alleged suspect and advised them not to create any further disturbances. The subject complied and officers then cleared the scene. A short time later, officers were again called to respond to the area for another disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed that the subject had placed speakers in the window of his home and was actively playing music to intentionally annoy his neighbors. As a result, Stephen Kenneth Heath, 34, was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. He was issued two criminal citations and released, pending trial in District Court.
