On November 26th, 2024, at approximately 12:17 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 400 block of Fayette Street for an assault. Upon arrival officers conducted an investigation into the assault. An officer spoke with the victim that advised they were assaulted by Jaren Jennings Brunson. The officer observed injuries to them that were consistent with their statement, as well as an independent witness’ statement. Brunson was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court commissioner and released on his own recognizance.
