Flood Watch Issued

National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from Monday 12:00 pm until Tuesday 12:00 am for portions of western Maryland, including the following areas, Eastern Garrett, Extreme Western Allegany and Western Garrett, western Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Highland and Western Highland, and eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Grant, Eastern Pendleton, Western Grant, Western Mineral and Western Pendleton.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected through this evening. Some thunderstorms will contain heavy rainfall, with rain amounts of 1 to 2 inches in an hour or two. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flood Watch issued April 1 at 2:39AM EDT until April 3 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible for.portions of western Maryland, including the following areas, Central and Eastern Allegany, Extreme Western Allegany and Garrett and eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Grant, Eastern Mineral, Western Grant, Western Mineral and Western Pendleton. Through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Appalachian region today through Tuesday evening. Two to four inches of rain are likely with locally higher amounts up to 5 inches possible over multiple days. This could cause flooding of small streams and creeks.
