On Thursday, April 11th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police arrested Kenneth Ervin Merica, 24, of Cumberland MD. Merica was arrested as a fugitive from justice when it was learned that he had an active arrest warrant issued for him Sumner County, Tennessee. The Tennessee warrant charges Merica with soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor and 12 counts of exploitation of a minor by electronic means. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond, and is awaiting extradition.

On Sunday, September 10th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Jason Charles Davis, 45, of Columbus OH. Davis was arrested on fugitive of justice charges after it was discovered he had an open arrest warrant in Franklin County, Ohio. The Ohio warrant alleged Davis failed to verify his address in regards to previous criminal convictions and the warrant was confirmed to be extraditable. Davis was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond. He is currently awaiting extradition to Ohio.
