Greene Street Trespassing arrest

On Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 200 block of Greene St for a trespassing complaint. Once on scene, officers learned that a male subject had been asked to leave the premises by security, but had refused to comply. Police then contacted the male and advised him to leave the property, to which he complied. The male subject was also advised not to return to the property or he would be arrested for trespassing. A short time later, police were called to return to the property because the male had re-entered the store. As a result, Michael Wayne Bergman, 60, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. He was then issued a criminal citation and released, pending trial in District Court.

On May 7th, 2024 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 200 block of Greene Street for an intoxicated subject that had been ordered to leave the premises, by officers, and had since returned. The officers contacted the individual and identified him as Christopher Michael Freeman Sr. Freeman had been ordered to leave the business at 8:55 p.m. as well as 9:49 p.m. Freeman was subsequently placed under arrest for failing to remain off of the property and intoxicated public disturbance.
