On Monday, April 11, 2022 at approximately 6:17 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence on Potomac Street for an assault. Upon their arrival, they contacted one of the residents who reported that Dustin Walk woke him up, jumped on him, and repeatedly struck him all over his body with open hands and closed fists. The victim explained to the officers that he was able to break free from the assault and call the police. After further investigation, Walk was arrested and transported to the police station for processing. Walk was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.

On 02/18/16 Cumberland Police Officers served an arrest warrant on Corey Daniel Smith. The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on 02/16/15 on Bedford Street in Cumberland. The victim called the Cumberland Police Department and stated she and her boyfriend had been in an argument. She stated the argument became physical and her boyfriend, Corey Daniel Smith, assaulted her. She stated he then left the residence and took her vehicle. She has allowed him to use the vehicle in the past but did not give him permission to use the vehicle on this occasion. Smith also took her cell phone and damaged it. Smith had left the scene prior to the Officer’s arrival. Charges were filed at District Court. Smith was located, placed under arrest and was taken to the Allegany County Commissioner’s Office. He was released on his own recognizance awaiting trial in District Court.
