On 1/11/2024 at approximately 10:00 PM the Cumberland City police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Maryland Avenue for an assault complaint. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who advised Liane Walsh was intoxicated and struck them in the face. Officers observed an injury on the victim’s face. Officers spoke to two other witnesses inside the residence who advised that Walsh assaulted the victim. Walsh was placed under arrest without incident and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Walsh received a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and was released on her personal recognizance. The victim did not require medical treatment for the injury.
