On Sunday, August 24, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 Block of Mechanic Street for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the complainant, who advised they had been assaulted. Officers identified the suspect as Mark Myers. After the investigation was completed, Myers was placed under arrest for assault. During the arrest, it was learned that Myers had an additional arrest warrant for a previous assault. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner, where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 Block of North Mechanic Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival, the Officers completed an investigation, and it was learned that a domestic assault had occurred. The suspect, Matthew O'Reilly, was not located on scene. An application for charges was completed, and an arrest warrant was issued. O'Reilly was located the next day and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he was held without bond pending his trial.
