OBSTRUCTING & HINDERING ARREST

On Sunday, July 21, 2024 at approximately 2:02 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of George Washington Headquarters on Greene Street for an assault in progress.  Police arrived and contacted the parties involved.  One of the subjects, identified as Thomas Scannell Jr, was intoxicated and refused to listen to officers. Scannell kept aggressively approaching police and would also keep walking away as they were attempting to conduct an investigation.  Scannell was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking where he is currently being held awaiting a bond hearing.

CHARGES:  Intoxicated Public Disturbance, Litter/Dump under 100 LBS, Obstructing & Hindering

On Friday, June 28, 2024 at approximately 1:20 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of N. Cedar Street and Blaul Avenue for a hit and run complaint.  During the investigation, a group of people began yelling and interfering with the investigation.  The group was warned multiple times by the police to stop causing a disturbance.  A female identified as Raquel Dillon refused to listen to officers and continued to yell.  When police advised Dillon that she was under arrest, she began to walk away from officers and resisted arrest.  After a brief struggle, Dillon was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking.  She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.
