On November 27th, 2024 at approximately 21:04 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to an apartment building on Paca Street for an unruly tenant. Upon arrival officers spoke to the complainant and were advised that Michael Wayne Bergman was creating unwanted noise and running through the hallways. Officers could hear Bergman yelling in the building before contacting him. Once contacted, Bergman was ordered to stop creating disturbances, and the officers cleared the scene. Approximately thirty minutes later the officers returned for Bergman as he continued to create disturbances. He was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. Bergman was later seen by a District Court commissioner and held on a temporary commitment.

On Monday, November 18, 2024 at approximately 9:30 AM, officers responded to the 200 block of Paca Street for a disturbance. Police contacted the complainant who reported that Michael Bergman had been causing a disturbance and threw food at her door. Bergman was unable to be located at this time. At approximately 1:11 PM, officers responded to a financial institution located in the 100 block of Baltimore Street for a disturbance. The staff reported that Bergman was there causing a disturbance. Bergman was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. Bergman was issued a criminal citation for the earlier incident. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
