On August 7th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police responded to 12000 block of Willowbrook Rd for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, Officers contacted a female victim who advised they had been involved in an assault at their Potomac St residence. The victim advised that they had been involved in a verbal altercation with David Wayne Wolford, 39, of Cumberland MD. The victim advised that the argument began to escalate and they attempted to leave the residence. At that time, it is alleged that Wolford followed the victim and began to strike them in the head with a phone, causing lacerations. As a result, Wolford was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $7,500 bond.

On 2/11/2021 at approximately 11:55 PM the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Virginia Avenue for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers spoke to a witness and were directed to a nearby apartment. Officers made contact with the occupants of the apartment. Officers spoke to the victim and observed visible injuries. Officers arrested Thomas Michael Derr without incident. The victim did not require medical assistance. Mr. Derr was taken before a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
