Police Make Arrest After Disturbance

just after midnight officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue for a reported disturbance. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with employees who advised that Samuel Resnick had been harassing patrons of the business, and advised they wanted him removed from the property. Officers advised Resnick to leave the property, not to return, and to refrain from causing any further disturbances. At approximately 12:48 am officers responded back to the business due to Resnick returning and causing a disturbance. Resnick was placed under arrest, and during a subsequent search of his person drug paraphernalia was located. Resnick was later released on Criminal Citations pending his trial at District Court.

 

Arrest: Samuel Stuart Resnick, age 41, Cumberland Maryland.

Charges: Trespassing, Fail to Obey, Possession of Paraphernalia.

On October 24th, 2021, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of 200 block of East Union St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female victim. She advised that a male subject, Jeremy Allen May, 39, of Cumberland Maryland, had come to the residence and entered without permission. An argument ensued between the subjects and the police were contacted. The victim also advised that a Protective Order was in place forbidding May form contacting them. May was located in the basement of the home and taken into custody without incident. He was taken to Police Headquarters for processing before being taken to the District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance. May was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently being held on $1,500 bond.
